Founded in 2000, Sew Many Windows was built on Colleen McNally’s passion to create beautiful surroundings, inspired from nature, art, fashion, and most specifically, her client’s individual personalities. Adopting a hands-on approach, Colleen boasts a keen eye for detail, which she casts upon her couture window treatment creations for clients of Sew Many Windows. Between her unwavering attention to detail and endless spring of inspiration, Colleen consistently delights her residential interior design customers as Sew Many Windows evolves and grows.
Colleen’s early design education is rooted in dressmaking, specifically, learning to work with fabric, guided by her mother’s talented hands. No wonder Colleen is determined to track down the exact right fabric for her projects, and often travels to find the perfect material to complete one of her custom creations. What began as a business devoted to drapery design and fabrication, has grown to encompass the entirety of residential interior design including bedding, custom furniture and reupholstery. Currently, Colleen also completes orders for furniture expansion, floor coverings, lighting, and accessories; in other words, a client’s complete surroundings.
A true original, Colleen blends her sharp sense of color and appreciation for classic interiors with contemporary pieces and custom designs. At the core of every project completed by Sew Many Windows is a collaborative process between Colleen and her clients that inspires creativity as well as transparency. Not surprisingly, this relaxed and friendly approach has earned Sew Many Windows a loyal fan base, with many clients continuing to work with Colleen years later in order to complete their dream home.
Although Sew Many Windows is based in Plainfield, Illinois, Colleen logs many miles while on the hunt for extraordinary, yet affordable home furnishings for her clients in the suburbs of Chicago. When she is home, Colleen reenergizes her creative spirit by spending time with her husband and her Parson Russell Terriers, Darby and Lilly.
